Cascade River Campground

Cascade River State Park campground is located in the heart of Minnesota's North Shore country, offering campers access to some of the most spectacular waterfall scenery in the region. The Cascade River tumbles through a volcanic rock gorge carved over millennia, creating a series of dramatic waterfalls surrounded by lush moss and ferns. The campground provides a comfortable base for exploring 18 miles of hiking trails that wind through boreal forest and along the river. The campground offers 40 drive-in campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet. Twenty-one sites feature electric hookups for those needing power. Seasonal amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station typically operating from May through October. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. For backpackers, five remote hike-in sites offer three-sided shelters and bear boxes. Campers enjoy easy access to Lake Superior shoreline, excellent trout fishing in the Cascade River, and connections to the Superior Hiking Trail. The campground fills quickly during summer and fall months, particularly during fall color season. Campground hosts are available June through September and sell approved firewood.

Located at 3481 West Highway 61, Lutsen, MN 55612. The park entrance is on the non-lakeside of Highway 61 between Lutsen and Grand Marais along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
