Big Eddy Campground is located on the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana along Highway 200, approximately 6 miles east of the Idaho border. Situated at 2,185 feet elevation on Cabinet Gorge Reservoir, this small campground offers 5 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, accommodating RVs up to 30 feet with one pull-through site available. The location provides direct access to Cabinet Gorge Reservoir for boating and fishing enthusiasts.
The campground features a fully developed boat ramp with a dock, making it popular with anglers and boaters traveling through the area. Two day-use sites are available near the boat ramp, one equipped with a covered shelter, picnic tables, and fire grills. Basic amenities include vault toilets, though no potable water is available on-site. The campground is managed from Memorial Day through Labor Day but remains accessible year-round, weather permitting, operating on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system.
