About

Belmont Lake State Park is a 463-acre day-use park on Long Island, bisected by Carll's Creek and scenic Belmont Lake. The park does not offer overnight camping and operates from sunrise to sunset year-round. Recreational options include pedal boats, rowboats, and kayaks for rent on the lake at $20 for two hours. Hard-bottomed kayaks and canoes may be launched, though inflatables and motorized boats are prohibited. The park features 7.6 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use (horseback riding available through Babylon Riding Stables). Fishing is permitted year-round following DEC regulations. Additional amenities include playgrounds for children ages 2-12, basketball and baseball fields, bocce ball, and horseshoes. A fenced dog run with separate areas for large and small dogs is available; however, dogs are not permitted in picnic areas or on boats. Four large pavilions (Birch, Maple, Oak, and Pine) can be reserved for group events, each accommodating up to 200 people at $200-$250 per rental.
