Residents near the Willow burn scar should prepare for potential debris flow. Be sure to stay up to date with information from local authorities. About

Belle of Colorado Campground sits on the eastern shore of Turquoise Lake within the San Isabel National Forest near Leadville, Colorado. The 19 tent-only sites are spread through a shaded lodgepole pine forest, with several desirable spots located near the shoreline offering easy lake access for fishing and paddling. This is a strictly first-come, first-served campground with no reservations accepted. Campers must physically arrive to claim and pay for a site. Each site accommodates up to 8 people, 3 tents, and 2 vehicles. A third vehicle costs an additional $11 per night. Payment is via cash, check, or money order at the self-service fee tube, or by scanning a QR code with the Recreation.gov mobile app. Facilities include vault toilets throughout the campground, picnic tables, fire rings, and pedestal grills at each site. Firewood is available for purchase at the host site. Usage is moderate on weekdays but heavy on weekends. Interagency Senior Pass and Access Pass holders receive a 50% discount.

Directions

From Leadville, follow signs to Turquoise Lake Recreation Area. The campground is located on the eastern shore of the lake.
