* WHAT...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. * WHERE...Flathead/Mission Valleys and Kootenai/Cabinet Region. * WHEN...From 2 PM Friday to midnight MDT Friday Night. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There's a 70 to 90 percent chance of gusting over 40 mph from Happy's Inn down to Hot Springs between 4PM and 6PM MDT. During the same period there's a 60 percent chance of gusting over 40 mph west of Kalispell, near Kila, and a 40 percent chance along the west side of the Mission valley and along the western shore of Flathead Lake. There's a 90 percent chance of gusts over 40 mph above 6,000 ft in the mountains.

About
Pete Creek Campground sits in the heart of Montana's Yaak River country, one of the most remote and wild regions in the lower 48 states. Located on the Three Rivers Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest, this 13-site campground provides a quiet base for exploring an area known for its grizzly bears, wolves, elk, and diverse bird populations. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own water supply. The Yaak River is accessible from the campground, offering fishing for native cutthroat as well as rainbow, brook, and bull trout. Services including laundry, ice, gas, groceries, dump station, and showers are located in Troy, approximately 36 miles southeast. The campground is one of five developed campgrounds in the Yaak area, along with Yaak Falls, Red Top, Whitetail, and Caribou campgrounds.
Directions
From Troy, travel 9.5 miles west on Highway 2 and turn right onto Yaak Highway 508. Follow for 27 miles to the campground entrance.
