Isabella & Lost Girl Fires- Road and Trail Closure
Due to the Isabella and Lost Girl Fires on the Cabinet Ranger District, a closure order is now in effect for a portion National Forest System Road 407, National Forest System Trail #407A, and Trail #646 (St. Paul Lake Trail).
Spruce Fire Road Closure-Updated
Due to the Spruce and Spruce Ridge Fires on the Three Rivers Ranger District, a closure order is still in effect. However, the original order has been terminated and replaced with an updated closure.
South Meadow Creek Fire Closure
Due to the South Meadow Creek Fire, a closure order is now in effect for National Forest System Roads #524 and #5961, starting at the junction of the two roads to their respective ending points.
Kootenai Rails Trail Closure
A portion of the Kootenai Rails Trail (NFS Trail #255) on the Rexford Ranger District is now temporarily closed during construction activities on the Tobacco River Bridge, which is over the trail, and to protect the public on the trail from potential debris impacts.

Yaak Falls Campground is a small, secluded 7-site campground located along the Yaak River in the Kootenai National Forest, 16 miles northwest of Troy, Montana. Situated at 2,400 feet elevation in a natural forest setting, this campground is a favorite among visitors seeking tranquility and river access. Each site is equipped with a table and fire ring, and the campground includes a vault toilet. No drinking water is available, so campers must bring their own. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. It is managed from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but remains accessible year-round depending on weather and road conditions. During winter months, snow typically makes the campground inaccessible. The daily fee is $10 per site, with a 50% discount for holders of Interagency Senior or Access passes. A 16-day stay limit applies to all National Forest System lands in the area. The Yaak River provides excellent fishing opportunities, and the surrounding area offers opportunities for wildlife viewing and exploring the remote Yaak country. Pets are welcome but must be leashed, and fireworks are prohibited. Access is via Yaak Highway 508, with the campground located approximately 7 miles north of the Highway 2 junction.

From Troy, travel 9.5 miles west on Highway 2 and turn right onto Yaak Highway 508. Follow for 7 miles to the campground entrance.
