About
Yaak Falls Campground sits along Yaak Highway 508 in the remote Yaak River corridor of northwestern Montana's Kootenai National Forest. The campground offers 7 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, in a predominantly forested setting. A vault toilet is provided, but there is no potable water so campers must bring their own supply. The Yaak area is known for its wild character and diverse wildlife, including grizzly bears, wolves, elk, deer, and various smaller mammals and birds. The Yaak River and its tributaries provide excellent habitat for cutthroat, rainbow, brook, and bull trout, making the area popular with anglers. A food storage order is in effect to protect both wildlife and campers. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $10 per night. While officially managed from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the campground remains accessible year-round depending on weather and road conditions. Campers should practice Leave No Trace ethics and pack out all trash.
