About

Red Top Campground is a quiet, free primitive campground nestled in the Yaak River area of the Kootenai National Forest in northwestern Montana. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The only facility is a vault toilet. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. This is a pack-in/pack-out campground, meaning all trash must be carried out. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees and no reservations. The campground is managed from Memorial Day through Labor Day but remains accessible year-round, weather and road conditions permitting. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
