South Manitou Group Campground is a tent-only campground located on a secluded island in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on Lake Michigan. This backcountry facility offers six group sites and day trips to unique sand dunes, old growth cedar forests, and the South Manitou Island Lighthouse. Campers must bring their own firewood and toilet paper but have access to 10 miles of pebble beaches and a grove of 500-year-old cedars.
