The 23-site campground sits adjacent to the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River, making it a popular base for anglers. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, scenic driving, and 4-wheel exploration. The Colorado and Continental Divide Trails can be accessed via the Cataract Gulch Trailhead, a short drive from the campground. Facilities include vault toilets and drinking water available from a hand pump. Firewood bundles are sold on-site for $10. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors must physically arrive to claim a site. Payment can be made via the Recreation.gov mobile app using the Scan and Pay feature, though campers should download the app before arrival as cellular service is limited in this remote area.
