About

Valle Vista Campground sits at 4,820 feet elevation in the Mt. Pinos Ranger District of Los Padres National Forest, offering visitors a peaceful camping experience with stunning panoramic views of the San Joaquin Valley. The campground features approximately 7 spacious sites shaded by pinyon pines and oak trees, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking solitude and nature connection. This primitive campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is rarely full, providing reliable access for spontaneous camping trips. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, though campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. Vault toilets are provided. The campground is accessible via Hudson Ranch Road, approximately 10 miles south of Highway 166, though the access road can be rough and may challenge RVs, trailers, or low-clearance vehicles. The campground is open year-round with a 14-day stay limit. An Adventure Pass or valid Interagency Pass is required for entry. Fires are permitted only in designated fire rings, and pets must be leashed at all times. On clear days, visitors can see across the valley to the Sierra Nevada mountains over 100 miles away, making this an excellent location for stargazing and nature photography.
