About

Tripoli Road Camping Area provides a no-frills roadside camping opportunity in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. Located just two miles east of Exit 31 off Interstate 93, the area offers easy access for campers who want a convenient base near the forest without the formality of a developed campground. Sites are dispersed along Tripoli Road with portable toilets available. This camping area is particularly popular with larger groups due to its accessible location and straightforward setup. However, campers should be aware this is not a tranquil backcountry experience. The roadside nature means traffic noise and proximity to other campers. There is no potable water on site, so visitors must bring their own supply or filter water from nearby streams. The area operates seasonally from mid-May through October on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. The nightly fee is $25 per vehicle, payable at the registration trailer located at the entrance. Nearby Russell Pond Campground offers a more developed alternative with flush toilets, showers, and reservable sites.

Directions

From Interstate 93, take Exit 31. Travel east on Tripoli Road approximately two miles to the registration trailer.
