About

Russell Pond Campground offers a peaceful retreat in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest, perched on a hillside with views of the spring-fed 40-acre Russell Pond. The campground features 84 campsites spread through a beautiful northern hardwood forest that provides ample shade. Sites range from walk-to tent sites to standard sites that can accommodate large RVs. The pond is regularly stocked with trout by the State Fish and Game Department, making it a popular fishing destination. Non-motorized boats are permitted, and the campground provides a boat ramp, dock, and beach area. Power boats are prohibited. The White Mountains region offers extensive hiking and mountain biking trails within a short drive, including portions of the Appalachian Trail. Free interpretive nature programs are offered at the amphitheater on Saturday evenings during July and August. The campground is located just 6 miles from the Kancamagus National Scenic Byway, which provides additional opportunities for scenic viewing, wildlife watching, and recreation.
