About
T.K. Jones Campground and Boat Launch is a large BLM-managed facility located on the backwaters of the Colorado River directly above Imperial Dam in Imperial County, California. The campground provides approximately 125 RV sites and numerous dispersed tent camping sites, making it an ideal destination for both RV enthusiasts and tent campers. The site features a paved boat launch with docks for motorized watercraft, as well as a dedicated car-top launch area for canoes and kayaks. Boaters should note that legal speed in Xanyō Xamshré is 5 mph with no wake; the no wake zone ends at the Colorado River proper.
The campground is equipped with four restrooms featuring flush toilets, and coin-operated showers are available for a separate fee. A centrally located potable water point serves the campground, along with trash and gray water disposal receptacles. Dispersed picnic tables and BBQ grills are scattered throughout the site. The day-use area offers paved parking for vehicles and boat trailers. The surrounding area provides access to various OHV, biking, and hiking trails, though OHVs are not permitted within the campground itself. The facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment available at self-registration fee stations or through the BLM Yuma Field Office.
