Midway Campground is a Bureau of Land Management campground located in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area in southeastern California, near the Arizona and Mexico borders. The campground is situated off Grey's Well Road, accessible from Interstate 8, and provides a convenient base for visitors exploring the largest sand dune system in California. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets and dumpsters with stable gravel ground suitable for parking RVs and vehicles. As a dispersed camping area, sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations or hookups available. The Buttercup Ranger Station is located nearby along the access road for visitor services and information. Visitors can enjoy photography, wildlife viewing, and off-highway vehicle recreation in the surrounding dunes.
