About

Agate Campground occupies a forested setting on the bluffs of Sue-meg State Park (formerly Patrick's Point State Park) along California's far north coast. The 640-acre park features a dramatic landscape of sheer ocean cliffs, coastal meadows, and dense tree cover. The campground provides both standard tent/RV sites and four wheelchair-accessible cabins. The park is renowned for Agate Beach, where collectors can gather semi-precious agates polished by the surf (one armload per person limit). A short perimeter walk offers tidepooling opportunities and views of seals, sea lions, and migrating gray whales. The reconstructed Yurok village of Sumêg provides cultural and historical context for this area, which the Yurok people have called Sue-meg since time immemorial. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and food storage locker. The campground has flush restrooms with coin-operated showers and potable water spigots throughout. An RV dump station serves the park. Dogs are allowed in the campground on a six-foot leash but are prohibited on trails and beaches.
