Stanislaus River Campground sits in mature conifer forest along the North Fork Stanislaus River near Spicer Reservoir in the Stanislaus National Forest. This developed campground offers 25 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and bear box for food storage. Drinking water is available from hand-operated pumps, and vault toilets serve the campground. The campground's riverside location provides excellent opportunities for fishing and stream play along the North Fork Stanislaus River. The setting offers a classic Sierra Nevada forest camping experience with towering conifers and the sounds of running water. Spicer Reservoir is nearby for additional recreation opportunities. Access is straightforward via Spicer Reservoir Road (Forest Road 7N01), three miles east of Highway 4. The campground operates seasonally, typically from late spring through fall, closing for winter due to snow. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m., check-out at 12:00 p.m., with quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Some sites may be reservable through Recreation.gov, while others are first-come, first-served.
