About
Stanislaus River Campground occupies a scenic stretch of mature conifer forest along the North Fork Stanislaus River in the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest. Located three miles east of Highway 4 on Spicer Reservoir Road, the campground provides easy access to Spicer Reservoir and surrounding backcountry. The 25 campsites are spread through the forested riverside setting, each equipped with a picnic table. Facilities include vault toilets and hand-pumped potable water. Bear boxes are provided for food storage. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. The area offers excellent fishing opportunities on the North Fork Stanislaus River and stream play for families. Nearby Spicer Reservoir provides additional recreation including boating and swimming. Campers should practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all trash.
