About
Rocky Point Campground sits at 6,800 feet elevation on the shores of Utica Reservoir in the Stanislaus National Forest. The reservoir occupies a scenic granite basin surrounded by red fir and lodgepole pine forest, making it a popular destination for fishing and non-motorized boating. Two dirt boat ramps for non-motorized watercraft are located nearby. The campground features 12 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, bear box, and designated parking spur. Vault toilets serve the campground, and seasonal potable water is available from a hand pump at the intersection of roads 7N75 and 7N17. Campers should practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all trash. Access is via Highway 4, turning south onto Spicer Reservoir Road for 8 miles, then left onto gravel road 7N75 for 0.7 miles to a T-intersection, then left for one mile to the campground.
Directions
From Highway 4, turn south onto Spicer Reservoir Road (paved) and drive 8 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 7N75 (gravel) and continue 0.7 miles to a T-intersection. Turn left and drive one mile to the campground on the right.
