About

Southside Campground is a small developed campground located within the Lake Isabel Recreation Area in San Isabel National Forest. With just 8 pull-through sites, it provides an intimate camping experience in the scenic Wet Mountains of southern Colorado at approximately 8,600 feet elevation. The campground is designed for RVs under 30 feet due to tight turns throughout the facility. Lake Isabel offers excellent opportunities for non-motorized boating and fishing. St. Charles Creek runs nearby and is also open to fishing. The campground provides convenient access to several trails including the Cisneros Trail #1314, St. Charles Trail #1316, and Snowslide Trail #1318 for both motorized and non-motorized recreation. Each site includes a fire ring, pedestal grill, and picnic table. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own supply. Due to the remoteness of the location, cell phone service is not available. Bear-resistant food storage is required under current closure orders.
