About

La Vista Campground is a developed Forest Service campground within the Lake Isabel Recreation Area, nestled at 8,600 feet in the San Isabel National Forest. The campground overlooks the west side of 40-acre Lake Isabel and offers 25 sites split between tent-only walk-in sites (sites 1-10) and RV sites with 15-amp electric hookups. All sites include a picnic table and fire ring, with potable water available via handpump or spigot throughout the campground. Vault toilets serve the area. RV sites accommodate rigs up to 45 feet with back-in access only. The campground enforces a maximum of 8 people per site, with either 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 RV allowed. Lake Isabel provides non-motorized boating and fishing opportunities, while St. Charles Creek near the campground is open for fishing. Motorized trail access to Cisneros, St. Charles, and Snowslide trails is available from the recreation area. A shoreline hiking trail circles the lake.
