About

Robinson Flat Campground sits at 6,800 feet elevation in the Tahoe National Forest, serving as the terminus of the Foresthill Divide Road. This remote campground features 14 total sites split between 7 family sites and 7 equestrian sites, positioned near a scenic meadow and stream under a canopy of pines and firs. The campground is situated on the historic Western States Trail and provides access to Little Bald Mountain Trail, making it popular with equestrians and hikers exploring the high Sierra backcountry. The road to Robinson Flat is 27 miles of narrow, winding pavement from Foresthill, ending where the pavement stops at the campground. Due to the challenging access road, trailers are not recommended. Amenities are basic: vault toilets and a hand pump well for drinking water are available, but there is no trash service, so visitors must pack out everything they bring in. Cell phone service is limited to the road intersection near the campground. No fees are charged for camping at this site. The campground's remote location and light usage level make it ideal for those seeking solitude in the high Sierra.

Directions

From I-80, take the Foresthill exit and drive on Foresthill Road for 15 miles to the Forest Service Ranger Station just before the town of Foresthill. Continue on Foresthill Road for 27 miles until the pavement ends at Robinson Flat.
