About

Nestled in the heart of Southern California, Lake Perris State Recreation Area spans over 8,800 acres and offers an oasis for outdoor enthusiasts. The campground features 431 total campsites divided between 264 paved hookup sites with water and electric service and 167 non-hookup tent sites. Seven equestrian campsites with horse stalls are also available. Most camping areas have shade trees, though extra canopies are recommended during hot summer months. The 2,000-acre reservoir provides exceptional opportunities for boating, water skiing, fishing for largemouth bass and catfish, and swimming at two designated beaches with seasonal lifeguards. A nine-mile trail circling the lake accommodates hikers, bikers, and equestrians, while Big Rock offers year-round climbing opportunities. The park also features the Ya'i Heki' Regional Indian Museum showcasing Native American culture of the Inland Empire region. Campground amenities include modern restrooms with showers, a dump station, and the Rec-Out SoCal marina store offering food, supplies, and watercraft rentals. The park enforces Quagga mussel inspections for all vessels. Summer weekends can reach capacity, with the park closing to additional vehicle traffic when full. Off-season visits from December through February offer uncrowded conditions with pleasant weather.
