About

Falcon Group Campground sits at 3,300 feet elevation in the Santa Ana Mountains, approximately 4 miles northwest of Ortega Highway (Highway 74) on North Main Divide Road. The campground features three distinct group sites: Lupine (40-person capacity, $75/night), Sage (30-person capacity, $60/night), and Yarrow (70-person capacity, $120/night). All sites are tent-only with no hookups or RV accommodations. The area lies within a mixed forest and chaparral ecosystem with abundant wildlife, including mountain lions. Hiking is the primary draw, with the 1.4-mile Falcon Trail connecting directly to the campground and the scenic 6.8-mile Trabuco Canyon Trail leading into the backcountry. The adjacent Blue Jay Campground provides access to San Juan Trail, popular with mountain bikers. Facilities include flush toilets, campfire rings, charcoal grills, and trash service. Potable water availability is inconsistent and campers should plan to bring their own water supply. Vehicle length limits vary by site (20-40 feet), and trailers are not recommended due to limited parking. Access is currently restricted to the Lake Elsinore side of Ortega Highway.

Directions
