The campground is currently open and accepting reservations. Check-in is after 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at noon. Maximum stay is 15 consecutive nights during peak season (June 1 through November 30) and 30 nights total per calendar year.

Lake Perris Horse Campground is a primitive equestrian camping area within Lake Perris State Recreation Area, located 11 miles south of Riverside in Perris, California. The campground features 7 sites specifically designed for horse camping, with each site equipped with a fire pit, picnic table, two corrals, and nearby watering troughs for horses. Chemical restrooms and drinking water are provided, though there are no showers or hookups at the horse camp itself. The horse camp is situated off Alta Calle Road, past the main Lake Perris Campground, and offers generally accessible campsites with accessible parking and an equestrian mounting platform for riders with mobility needs. Sites can typically accommodate 2 vehicles with trailers, 1 vehicle with a trailer and 1 self-contained RV, or up to 3 vehicles maximum. A three-lane dump station is available at the campground entrance for RV users. Reservations are made through ReserveCalifornia and can be booked 2 days to 6 months in advance. Same-day walk-in camping is accepted when availability exists, with walk-ins limited to 2 consecutive nights without a prior reservation. Each site requires a minimum of 1 horse and allows a maximum of 2 horses.
