About

Black Sandy State Park is a 43-acre recreation area on the eastern shore of Hauser Lake, a Missouri River impoundment north of Helena. The park serves as a popular basecamp for boaters, anglers, and water sports enthusiasts drawn to the lake's walleye and trout fishery. The campground offers 35 sites: 29 with electrical hookups (30 and 50 amp) that can be reserved, one reservable tent site, and five first-come-first-served tent sites. Electrical hookups operate May 1 through November 30. Facilities include flush toilets, vault toilets, an RV dump station, fire rings, and picnic tables. Potable water is available approximately May 15 through October 10. Maximum trailer length is 35 feet. A concrete boat ramp provides direct lake access. Swimming, water skiing, and hiking are available. The park is open year-round with limited facilities December through April. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.
