The Loon Lake Campground and Trailhead is closed this season for reconstruction. The boatramp is open for day use only though Labor Day weekend and then it will close for construction. The water system will not be operational during this time.

About
Pipi Campground (pronounced "pie pie") offers RV and tent camping along the Middle Fork of the Cosumnes River in Eldorado National Forest. At an elevation of 4,100 feet, the campground features three loops with 51 sites nestled among a dense mixture of conifers including cedar and fir. The Cosumnes River flows from the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada and runs for about 52 miles through California's Central Valley into the Mokelumne River. Historically, the native Miwok people used to camp in this region during summertime. The campground offers excellent fishing and swimming opportunities. Rainbow trout are regularly stocked in the river, and wheelchair-accessible fishing is provided from a paved river walkway that meanders along the river for just under a mile. The area experiences a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters. Sites include a mix of tent-only locations and sites that can accommodate trailers and RVs. The campground also features a day-use picnic area with 8 sites near the river.
Directions
From Jackson, head east on Highway 88 for 26 miles to Omo Ranch Road. Turn left on Omo Ranch Road and follow for 0.8 miles, then turn right on North South Road and continue for 5.9 miles to the campground.
