The Loon Lake Campground and Trailhead is closed this season for reconstruction. The boatramp is open for day use only though Labor Day weekend and then it will close for construction. The water system will not be operational during this time.

About

Pardoes Point Campground sits on the south shore of Lower Bear River Reservoir in the Eldorado National Forest at 6,000 feet elevation. This small campground offers 10 sites in a forested setting with access to lake recreation. All sites can accommodate tents and include picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. The campground provides vault toilets and potable water tested monthly during the operating season. The reservoir offers opportunities for fishing, swimming, and motorized boating with car-top boat launching available. Bears are active in the area, so proper food storage is required. Single sites accommodate up to 2 vehicles and 6 people, while double sites allow 4 vehicles and 12 people. Pets are permitted on leash. Nearby Bear River Resort provides additional amenities including a restaurant, store, boat launch, boat rentals, fishing licenses, dump station, and showers for a fee. Kit Carson Lodge also offers boat rentals, cabin rentals, restaurant, store, laundromat, and phone access. The campground is accessed from Highway 88 via Bear River Road, located 40 miles east of Jackson.
