About
Pardoes Point Campground is a small, intimate tent camping destination located in the Amador Ranger District of Eldorado National Forest. Situated at 6,000 feet elevation near Bear River Reservoir, the campground offers 10 tent-only sites including both single and double configurations. Each site includes a fire ring, grill, and picnic table, with vault toilets and potable water available throughout the campground. The area is known for fishing opportunities at Bear River Reservoir and access to non-motorized trails in the surrounding forest. Bears are active in the area, so all food, toiletries, and garbage must be stored in the provided bear boxes. A campground host is on-site during the operating season. Nearby Bear River Resort offers additional amenities including showers, a dump station, and a camp store for a fee. The campground enforces a 14-day maximum stay per district per year, with check-in at 2:00 PM and check-out at 1:00 PM.
