About

O'Haver Lake Campground is a scenic lakeside destination at 9,200 feet in San Isabel National Forest's Salida Ranger District. The 31 campsites are nestled among ponderosa pines, which give off a distinctive vanilla scent, and quaking aspens that put on golden displays in autumn. Sites sit along the shores of O'Haver Lake, a 15-acre lake stocked with rainbow and brook trout. The campground offers vault toilets and potable water but no hookups or showers. An accessible fishing pier provides lake access, and non-motorized watercraft are welcome. Firewood is sold on-site for $10 per bundle. Maximum occupancy is 8 people, 2 tents, and 2 vehicles (or 1 RV up to 45 feet) per site. Nearby attractions include the historic Denver and Rio Grande railroad grade, a popular mountain biking route from Monarch Pass to Marshall Pass. Silver Creek, Starvation Creek, Poncha Creek trails and the Rainbow Trail are also accessible from the area.

Directions

From Salida, travel west on Highway 50 to Poncha Springs. Turn south on Highway 285 for 5 miles. Turn right onto County Road 200 and continue 2.3 miles. Turn west on County Road 202 and proceed 2.5 miles to the campground.
