About

Michigan Creek Campground is a rustic, high-elevation campground located in Pike National Forest at 10,100 feet. Situated four miles northwest of Jefferson off County Roads 35 and 54, the campground provides access to the scenic South Park area of Colorado. The 12 sites accommodate tents and small RVs/trailers up to 25 feet. Facilities are limited to vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. There is no potable water, trash service, or hookups. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash. Bears are common in the area, and a bear closure order requires all attractants to be stored in a bear-resistant manner. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Fees are $22 per night for standard sites and $20 for buddy sites. Payment can be made via cash, check, or by scanning a QR code with the Recreation.gov app. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights.
