About

Michigan Creek Campground is located four miles northwest of Jefferson in Pike National Forest's South Park Ranger District at an elevation of 10,100 feet. This small, rustic campground offers 12 first-come, first-served campsites accessible via County Road 35 and County Road 54. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site, but visitors must bring their own water and pack out all trash. The maximum RV or trailer length is 25 feet, with parking for two vehicles or one RV per site included in the camping fee. The campground operates mid-May through mid-October, weather dependent, with reduced services early and late in the season. A bear closure order is in effect year-round, requiring all food and bear attractants to be stored in a bear-resistant manner using bear bags, bear boxes, or inside hard-sided vehicles. Check-in begins at 2:00 p.m., check-out is 12:00 p.m., and quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights, with up to eight people and two tents allowed per site.
