Located in the Meadowbrook Area of Big Stone Lake State Park, this campground offers 37 semi-modern campsites along the shores of Big Stone Lake, the source of the Minnesota River. Ten sites provide 30-amp electric hookups, while 13 lakeside drive-in sites offer direct lake access for fishing from your campsite. The campground sits near a swimming beach, picnic areas, and a boat launch, making it ideal for anglers pursuing walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and bluegills. The surrounding landscape features remnant prairies and mixed hardwood forests, with three miles of hiking trails that pass small patches of native prairie and bluebird houses. The campground provides seasonal flush toilets and showers, with vault toilets available year-round. A dump station is available seasonally. The sites are described as level and shady with adequate spacing, though lakeside sites may be more exposed. Big Stone Lake is a border water between Minnesota and South Dakota, stretching 26 miles in length. The shallow lake (maximum depth 15 feet) makes shore fishing as productive as boat fishing. Wildlife in the area includes deer, wild turkeys, pheasants, and over 200 bird species including waterfowl, meadowlarks, sedge wrens, and bobolinks.
