About
Little Todd Campground is a remote wilderness camping area situated on the north shore of Isle Royale National Park, accessible only via the challenging Minong Ridge Trail on foot or by canoe/kayak. This primitive campground offers four first-come, first-served tent sites designed for backcountry adventurers seeking solitude in Isle Royale's rugged northern reaches. No boat dock access is available, making this one of the island's more secluded camping locations. The campground provides basic amenities including seasonal composting toilets and non-potable water. Each individual tent site is equipped with a fire ring for evening campfires. Campers should be prepared for Isle Royale's unpredictable weather patterns influenced by Lake Superior, and note that the terrain throughout the campground is uneven and rough, with facilities that are not ADA accessible. No pets are allowed in the park. From June 1 through Labor Day, a two-night stay limit is enforced to ensure equitable access during peak season. Free overnight camping permits are required but there are no fees for small-party camping. Visitors must follow strict food storage guidelines to reduce human-wildlife interactions, particularly with wolves. Quiet hours run from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. EDT.
