About
Lake Perris State Recreation Area Campground sits along the shores of a 2,250-acre reservoir in Riverside County, providing a substantial camping destination in the Inland Empire. The facility encompasses 431 sites spread across multiple loops: Quail and Bobcat loops contain the 167 non-hookup tent sites, while Coyote, Deer, and Owl loops house 264 paved RV sites with water and 30-amp electric hookups (nine sites plus one accessible site offer 50-amp service). There are no sewer hookups at individual sites, but a complimentary three-lane automated dump station is located at the campground entrance. Amenities include restrooms with free hot showers throughout the camping area, all designed for wheelchair accessibility. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill. The area has shade trees but summer temperatures run high, so bringing additional canopies is recommended. A marina store operated by Rec-Out SoCal provides supplies and boat rentals. Recreational opportunities extend beyond camping to include swimming at the designated beach, fishing for largemouth bass and channel catfish, boating (mussel inspection required), windsurfing, scuba diving, and an extensive trail system for hiking and biking. Horse camp facilities and large group camping areas are also available. The Ya'i Heki' Regional Indian Museum showcases local indigenous heritage and is open weekends.
