About

Crawford State Park sits at 6,600 feet elevation on the western slope of Colorado, surrounding the 400-acre Crawford Reservoir. The park provides excellent camping with 66 sites split between two campgrounds: Iron Creek near the boat ramp with 45 sites featuring electric and water hookups, and Clear Fork with 20 sites including 15 full hookups and 5 tent-only sites. Both campgrounds have camper services buildings with flush toilets and hot showers, though these facilities close during winter and typically reopen in mid-April. The campgrounds feature fire rings and picnic tables at sites, with a dump station available at Iron Creek at no extra charge. Iron Creek offers both pull-through and back-in sites accommodating RVs from 45 to 120 feet. Several ADA-accessible sites are available. Pets are welcome on leashes no longer than six feet. The reservoir is popular for fishing, boating, and swimming, while the park maintains 3.2 miles of trails. Over 220 bird species have been documented, making it a destination for birders. The mild climate at this elevation allows for comfortable camping across all seasons, with the park remaining peaceful during weekdays and off-peak times.
