About

Cinnamon Guard Station is a historic U.S. Forest Service rental facility located in the Custer Gallatin National Forest in Gallatin County, Montana. Like many Forest Service guard stations and lookouts in the region, this cabin offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience Montana's backcountry in a historic structure. The guard station serves as a basecamp for exploring the surrounding national forest lands, which are part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The Custer Gallatin National Forest encompasses over 3 million acres of diverse landscapes, from rugged mountain peaks to pristine wilderness areas, offering exceptional opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing, and winter recreation. As a rental cabin, Cinnamon Guard Station provides rustic accommodations typical of Forest Service facilities. Visitors should be prepared for basic amenities and should plan to bring appropriate supplies for their stay. The remote setting offers solitude and immersion in Montana's wilderness, making it ideal for those seeking an authentic backcountry experience.
