About

Brooks Memorial State Park occupies over 700 acres of diverse terrain where the Simcoe Mountains meet the eastern edge of the Columbia River Gorge. The campground sits among tall ponderosa pines at an elevation that provides cooler summer temperatures and excellent stargazing conditions. Full-hookup RV sites feature 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections with room for slide-outs. Standard and primitive tent sites are also available throughout the campground. The park offers nine miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, plus a disc golf course. Goldendale Observatory State Park Heritage Site is a 20-minute drive away, making this an ideal base for astronomy enthusiasts. Nearby attractions include the Maryhill Museum of Art, the Stonehenge replica memorial, and the wineries and orchards of the eastern Columbia River Gorge. Water at hookup sites is available from mid-April through late October. The dump station serves all campers for $5 per use. Three furnished wall tents are available for those seeking a cabin-camping hybrid experience, each sleeping up to six on wooden floors under the pines.

Directions

From Goldendale, drive north on US Highway 97 for approximately 12 miles. The park entrance is on the west side of the highway.
