About

Billy Fields Campground is a primitive, fee-free horse camp located in the Blue Mountain Ranger District of Malheur National Forest in eastern Oregon. Designed with equestrians in mind, the campground features a 6-stall horse tie facility with manger, and horses can access water from the adjacent Billy Fields Creek. The rustic setting includes wooden picnic tables and metal fire rings at sites. This remote campground serves as an excellent base for hunting, fishing, and spotting the Murderer's Creek wild horse herd that roams the surrounding area. Hikers can access Fields Peak Trail approximately 3 miles from camp. The campground has a vault toilet but no potable water, and campers must pack out all trash. Campers should use certified weed-free hay and remove any unused hay when departing. Horses should not be pastured in the riparian area along the creek. The 14-day stay limit within any 30-day period applies.
