Withrow Springs State Park Campground

Open — Open year-round for camping. The visitor center operates daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March through November, and Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. from December through February. The pool is open weekends 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day. Due to highway bridge construction, the park currently has no direct access to War Eagle Creek.

Cradled by the bluffs of War Eagle Creek in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Withrow Springs State Park offers a serene camping experience on 786 acres of northwest Arkansas wilderness. Located approximately five miles north of Huntsville in Madison County, this park combines comfortable camping facilities with natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. The campground features 29 Class AAA campsites equipped with water, 50 amp electric service, and sewer hookups, making it suitable for RVs and larger rigs. For those seeking a more primitive experience, 10 walk-in tent sites are available. The park serves as a historic put-in point for War Eagle Creek, a north-flowing Class I stream typically floatable from March to mid-June depending on rainfall. Three hiking trails provide opportunities to explore the surrounding valleys and limestone bluffs, including habitat for the rare Ozark trillium. Beyond camping, the park offers tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, multiple picnic areas with pavilions available for group rentals, a seasonal swimming pool open through Labor Day, and a gift shop. A seasonal interpreter provides special programs, walks, and workshops throughout the summer months. Note that due to highway bridge construction, creek access from the park is temporarily unavailable, though private outfitters in the area can provide access.
