About
Fremont Campground occupies a shaded, hilly area within an oak forest in the Lower Santa Ynez Recreation Area, roughly 18 miles from Santa Barbara. The campground features 14 sites, 13 of which are reservable through Recreation.gov while one remains first-come, first-served. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and pedestal grill, accommodating up to 8 people. The campground provides flush toilets and drinking water. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. The Santa Ynez River can be accessed at nearby White Rock Day Use Area for water recreation, and Cachuma Lake Recreation Area offers boating, kayaking, and fishing. Recreational opportunities abound with the Aliso National Recreation Trail, a popular 2.5-mile loop near the campground, and the 18-mile Santa Cruz Trail connecting to numerous other routes. The Camuesa OHV Route is within 10 miles for off-road enthusiasts.
Directions
From Santa Barbara, take Highway 154 approximately 9 miles to Paradise Road. Turn right and follow the road to the campground.
