About

Cobb Ridge Campground serves as the base camp for the Chadwick Motorized Trails System in Missouri's Mark Twain National Forest. The 80-mile trail network draws dirt bike, ATV, and side-by-side riders (50 inches or less) with terrain ranging from smooth ridge-top cruising to technically challenging rocky descents through deep hollows. Mountain bikers and hikers also use the trails, though motorized traffic dominates. The campground offers 45 sites in various configurations: single, double, and triple units; back-in and pull-through layouts; electric and non-electric options. Electric sites provide 30 amp, 50 amp, and 110v service. Every site includes a picnic table, lantern post, and fire ring with grill. A central shower building has four warm-water stalls including one ADA-accessible unit. Flush and vault toilets are distributed throughout, and water hydrants serve all campers. There are no individual water or sewer hookups and no dump station on site. The area sits at 1,300 feet elevation in oak, hickory, and pine forest with scattered cedar and rocky glades. Springfield, Branson, and Silver Dollar City are each about 30 miles away; Lake Taneycomo lies 20 miles south.

Directions

From Chadwick, take Highway 125 south about 1.5 miles, turn right onto Highway H and continue 2 miles, then turn right onto Lookout Road. Follow to end of pavement; campground entrance is on the left.
