About

Moonshine Beach Recreation Area is a very popular sandy swimming beach along the shores of Table Rock Lake, just north of Table Rock Dam near Branson, Missouri. Unlike smaller swimming areas at campgrounds surrounding Table Rock Lake, Moonshine Beach is spacious enough to make visitors feel like they're at the ocean rather than a lake. This day-use recreation area offers picnicking, swimming, scuba diving, boating, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The beach features flush toilets, showers, a large group picnic shelter that accommodates up to 75 guests, volleyball court, and a boat ramp. The adjacent Dewey Short Visitor Center offers the 2-mile Table Rock Lakeshore Trail, which runs to the Table Rock State Park Marina and showcases spring blooms of dogwood, serviceberry, and redbud trees, along with beautiful views of the lake. Table Rock Lake is a beautiful body of water surrounded by oak and hickory forests, with its waters winding through the valleys and hollows of the Ozark Mountains. Originally built for flood control, Table Rock Dam created a lake with 779 miles of shoreline that attracts more than five million visitors annually.

Directions

From Branson, Missouri, take Highway 165 south to Table Rock Dam. The park is just north of the dam at 3778 South Highway 165.
