About

Lake Creek Campground sits in a heavily wooded setting within San Isabel National Forest, offering 11 campsites with some positioned along the creek. The small, quiet campground appeals to those seeking proximity to the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness without the crowds of larger facilities. Nearby trails including North Brush Trail and South Brush Trail connect to Rainbow Trail and lead into the wilderness area. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring or grate, and a pedestal grill. Drinking water is available from a hand pump, and an accessible outhouse serves the campground. The campground accommodates tents and smaller RVs but is not suited for large rigs. Maximum occupancy is 8 people per site with up to 2 tents and 2 vehicles, or 1 RV. Bears are common in the area and a bear closure order is in effect requiring all attractants to be stored in a bear-resistant manner. Dogs must remain leashed, and quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights.
