About

North Crestone Creek Campground is a rustic mountain campground in the Rio Grande National Forest, located near the unique spiritual community of Crestone, Colorado. The campground stretches 0.7 miles up a mountainside along North Crestone Creek, with 13 sites spread far enough apart that each feels like a private wilderness camp. The setting is a mix of aspen, juniper, fir, and other riparian vegetation along the creek corridor. Every site comes equipped with a bear-resistant food locker, fire ring, and picnic table. One site is pull-through. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM, and dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet. The campground provides convenient access to the North Crestone Trail and other hiking in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness. The nearby Town of Crestone offers an eclectic mix of spiritual centers and a public golf course.

Directions
