* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry, Watauga and Wilkes and southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Carroll, Floyd, Grayson and Patrick. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - As the remnants of Isaias move northward into the lower Ohio Valley, periods of rain will continue. Heavier rainfall will continue in short bursts through the day. The City of Salem in west central Virginia... * Until 1115 AM EDT. * At 613 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... South Central Floyd County in southwestern Virginia... Southwestern Patrick County in southwestern Virginia... * WHEN...Until 715 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water has been observed flowing over a few roadways throughout the night. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 527 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rain falling across the Advisory area, with minor flooding of small creeks and streams, as well as low water crossings continuing. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen since Saturday evening. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Archies Creek and Ararat River. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
