THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 433 TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF TEXAS ARMSTRONG CARSON DONLEY GRAY POTTER RANDALL THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AMARILLO, BUFFALO LAKE, BUSHLAND, CANYON, CLARENDON, CLAUDE, GOODNIGHT, KINGSMILL, PAMPA, PANHANDLE, PANTEX, SKELLYTOWN, UMBARGER, WASHBURN, WAYSIDE, AND WHITE DEER.
Flood Advisory issued July 1 at 9:09PM CDT until July 2 at 12:15AM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of the Panhandle of Texas, including the following counties, Armstrong, Carson, Donley and Gray. * WHEN...Until 1215 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 909 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Panhandle, Claude, White Deer, Groom and Goodnight. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
