* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana, including the following areas, Adams, Allen IN, Blackford, De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Fulton IN, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Western St. Joseph IN and Whitley, southwest Michigan, including the following areas, Branch, Cass MI, Northern Berrien, Southern Berrien and St. Joseph MI, and northwest Ohio, including the following areas, Paulding and Van Wert. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT /1 PM CDT/ this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. Basement flooding may occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected through midday. Little Calumet River at Munster (Hohman Avenue) affecting Lake IN and Cook Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Little Calumet River from IN-912 in Hammond downstream to confluence with Thorn Creek in South Holland, including the Munster (Hohman Avenue) gauge. * WHEN...From early Sunday morning to late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...At 12.5 feet, Most areas outside of the levee-protected area are inundated in Hammond and Munster. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 6.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Sunday morning to a crest of 13.8 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
