Washington County State Recreation Area Campground
Open for camping. The shower building operates April 1 through October 31. A portion of the hiking trail is temporarily closed due to wastewater system construction at the shower house, affecting approximately 300 yards of the 2-mile wooded section starting at the northwest corner.

About
Washington County State Recreation Area sits four miles south of Nashville in southern Illinois, centered on a 248-acre lake with a 13-mile shoreline. The campground provides tent and trailer spaces with electricity and a dump station available for RVs. A shower building at Shady Rest campground operates from April 1 through October 31. Two accessible campsites (#2 and #51) feature asphalt surfaces, and a potable water fill station is located at the campground entrance. The park offers two campground cabins equipped with a full-size bed, two bunk beds, table, chairs, heat, and ceiling fans. Each cabin area includes an outdoor fire grill, table, and BBQ grill. No cooking, pets, or smoking is permitted inside cabins. Reservations are made through the ExploreMoreIL system. The recreation area provides a 7-mile marked trail circling the lake for hikers to enjoy trees, wildflowers, and wildlife. Over 900 acres are open for hunting rabbit, quail, squirrel, dove, deer, and woodcock. Accessible fishing piers and boat docks are available near the concession area and at Dean's Point. A concession store operates seasonally from April 1 through October 31.
