About
Turkey Flat OHV Staging Area is a year-round dispersed camping and day use facility designed for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts in the Los Padres National Forest. Located on Navajo Road near Parkhill Road, the area provides direct access to 45 miles of marked and rated OHV trails that appeal to ATVs, quad runners, dual sport, and single-track riders of all skill levels. The terrain is mostly rocky and hard packed, with trails leaving from the staging area including Powerline and La Canada. A small warm-up and kids track is available for beginner riders. The campground features an open area of campsites with picnic tables situated under large oak trees for shade, and two vault toilets. Visitors should plan to be completely self-sustainable as there is no potable water or dump station onsite. On clear days, expansive views of the coastline and Sierra Mountains are visible, along with peaks such as Pozo Summit and Black Mountain. This rustic facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. Day use parking costs $10 per vehicle, and overnight camping is $30 per night. The 14-day stay limit applies. All OHV riders must have proper registration, operating spark arrestors, and either a license plate or red/green sticker. A California Campfire Permit is required. The facility is concession-managed by Parks Management Company for the Forest Service.
