About

Navajo Flat OHV Staging Area and Campground is a premier destination for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts in Los Padres National Forest. The facility features six campsites, five of which include shaded canopy structures, all equipped with fire rings and picnic tables. One vault toilet serves the campground. ATVs, quad runners, dual sports, and single-track riders enjoy easy access to 45 miles of marked and rated trails directly from campsites, with routes designated for both motorcycles and ATVs. A dedicated beginner track is located within the facility boundary, making it suitable for riders of all skill levels. The landscape features oak, conifer, and chaparral vegetation with mostly rocky, hard-packed terrain. On clear days, riders can enjoy views of the coastline and Sierra Mountains from higher peaks like Pozo Summit. The facility includes a kiosk with information about the ecosystem, Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace ethics, and an OHV trail map. This is a pack-in, pack-out facility with no potable water, electricity, or dump station. Four campsites are reservable through Recreation.gov, while two remain first-come, first-served. Managed by Parks Management Company for the Forest Service at $30 per night plus a $10 extra vehicle fee.
