A free overnight permit is required and obtained upon arrival. From June 1 through Labor Day, a 3-night consecutive stay limit applies.

About

Tookers Island Campground occupies a small island in Rock Harbor Channel within Isle Royale National Park, one of the most remote and least-visited national parks in the contiguous United States. The campground is accessible only by canoe, kayak, or private boat, making it a destination for paddlers exploring the Rock Harbor area. Two three-sided shelters provide basic overnight accommodation on a first-come, first-served basis. The dock can accommodate boats overnight with approximately 7 feet of depth under normal water conditions. Seasonal composting toilets are available, but there is no potable water; campers must bring their own supply or treat water from the lake. No campfires are permitted; self-contained stoves only. The terrain is rough and uneven throughout, and facilities are not ADA accessible. Isle Royale is open seasonally from mid-April through October. A free overnight permit is required for all camping and must be obtained upon arrival at Rock Harbor or Windigo. From June 1 through Labor Day, a 3-night consecutive stay limit applies at this campground.
