About

Three separate areas in Richmond Lake Recreation cater to the needs of campers, swimmers, naturalists, boaters and anglers. Campers stay in the South Unit, while the 200-acre Forest Drive Unit is a great place for wildlife viewing. The Boat Ramp Unit provides access to the more than 1,000-acre lake. Campsites with electricity are available, and the one-room camping cabin is equipped with heating and air conditioning and sleeping space for four people. Campers can avail themselves of the comfort station's showers and flush toilets and dump station. On the grounds of Richmond Lake Recreation Area is a fun disc golf course, fishing dock, picnic shelter, playground, boat ramp and beach. Plenty of walleye, northern pike, bass, perch, crappie, bluegill, catfish and bullheads fill the lake. Around the area, short trips can take your to the Dacotah Prairie Museum, Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Mina Lake Recreation Area.
