About
Enjoy swimming from the lakeside beach and fishing from the dock. The Pheasant Run Trail at Lake Louise Recreation Area is a pleasant, easy hike, suitable for all ages. Bird-watchers and nature observers will be rewarded with glimpses of wildlife and native trees. The whole family can participate in Frisbee golf, horseshoes and other outdoor sports at this "peaceful prairie oasis." Lake Louise was created in 1932, when the south fork of Wolf Creek was dammed. Water depth in this 164-acre impoundment averages nine feet, with a maximum depth of 25 feet. Anglers and hunters come to this area for its abundant game. Lake Louise Recreation Area is located in the heart of pheasant and duck country. If that sounds like the perfect spot for you to spend some time, reservations can be made for campsites, either with or without electricity, during the camping season, and for cabins, open year-round. Furnishings in the cozy cabins at Lake Louise Recreation Area consist of a set of bunk beds, double bed, table and benches. Outside accommodations are a fire grate, picnic table and porch. Air conditioning and heating keep the temperature inside comfortable throughout the year.
